Animoca Brands lists on Australian Securities Exchange (ASX)

Black Fire Minerals Ltd meets conditions set out in Replacement Prospectus, changes name, updates ticker symbol to “AB1”

Hong Kong - January 23, 2015 - Having satisfied the conditions described in its Replacement Prospectus of December 4, 2014, Black Fire Minerals Ltd. (“Blackfire”) today has re-listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) under the new name of Animoca Brands Corporation Ltd. (“Animoca Brands”), following the completion of the reverse takeover of Animoca Brands by Blackfire. To reflect the change of name and business, the ticker symbol of the company has been updated from “BFE” to “AB1”. Public trading of shares of Animoca Brands on the ASX commenced on January 23, 2015.

Animoca Brands is a spin-off of Animoca (Appionics Holdings Ltd.), recognised by Pocket Gamer as one of the “Top 50 Developers” in both 2013 and 2014. Animoca Brands develops and publishes mobile games and apps, including self-developed apps as well as those developed by third parties. The Company’s products are available globally on major platforms including Apple’s App Store℠ and Google Play™; in some markets Animoca Brands products are available in country-specific app stores, like the Amazon Appstore in the U.S. or SK Telecom’s T-Store in South Korea.

Many Animoca Brands games are based on highly popular intellectual property (IP), usually well-known characters that have already been popularized in other media such as television or print. For example, Animoca Brands licences from Paws, Inc. the rights to the character ‘Garfield’ and all supporting characters in Jim Davis’s iconic comic strip. The Garfield games developed by Animoca Brands under this licence have been downloaded about 40 million times and constitute a lucrative and diversified portfolio of titles spread across different game genres and audiences. The Company has also produced apps based on ‘Doraemon’, ‘Ben 10’, ‘Astro Boy’ and ‘Ultraman’, with more titles currently in production.

In addition to famous IPs, Animoca Brands produces and publishes its own original titles, and it also leverages its global distribution network and promotional abilities to provide publishing services for various third-party game developers. Games developed and/or published by Animoca Brands cover nearly every genre including adventure, time management, action, shoot-em-up, role-playing, online games, edutainment and more. Animoca Brands has a portfolio of more than 170 games, many of them in the casual gaming segment, with some midcore and hardcore gaming titles. Animoca Brands games have been downloaded over 100 million times.

“We’re so pleased to be joining the ASX, and we look forward to introducing our business and our sector to the Australian investor community,” said incoming Animoca Brands CEO Robby Yung. “As one of the first mobile app developers listed in Australia, we believe our global footprint, our portfolio approach with its diversification of risk, and the robust growth of our sector will resonate with investors.”

David Kim, the CEO of Animoca and director and chairman of Animoca Brands, commented: “With a strong track record and ability to leverage lucrative market opportunities, Animoca Brands is an attractive investment vehicle for Australian investors. Countries in Asia have roughly as many mobile users as the rest of the world combined and are expected to show strong growth in mobile revenues.  Taking advantage of this growth by listing on a public exchange is a logical and forward-looking step for us.”

Google Play and Android are trademarks of Google Inc. App Store is a service mark of Apple Inc.
