Renowned violinists Hae-Won Yoon and Rae-Eun Kim will perform Niccolò Paganini’s iconic “Caprice No. 24,” accompanied by two legendary instruments: the “Empress Caterina” Stradivarius violin crafted in 1708 by master luthier Antonio Stradivari and a rare Nicolaus Gagliano violin crafted in 1735. The Empress Caterina, revered for its unmatched resonance and distinctive tone, is considered a priceless masterpiece, nearly impossible to replicate due to its unique craftsmanship. Last year, Galaxy successfully tokenized the Empress Caterina through its wholly owned subsidiary GK8, creating a digital representation violin on the Ethereum blockchain. The tokenization was initiated by the violin’s owner, Yat Siu, who sought to democratize access to the value of the Empress Caterina and permanently preserve the instrument and its precious history on blockchain. The tokenization is one of the first-ever applications of blockchain technology demonstrating how real-world assets such as fine art, real estate, and historical instruments can be managed, valued, and utilized in global markets.
