Sequel to critically acclaimed music mobile game trains your rhythm

 

Hong Kong: June 30, 2016 - Animoca Brands (ASX: AB1) today launched Groove Galaxy, the sequel to last year’s innovative and critically acclaimed rhythm music game Groove PlanetGroove Galaxy is free to download on the App Store℠ for iPhone®, iPad®, and iPod touch®.

 

Groove Galaxy is a music-based world-building game that provides a new way to experience your music, and lets you discover millions of new music tracks thanks to integration with iTunes® and Apple Music®. The game comes with 16 awesome tracks by indie EDM artists YessaDanny DarkoWekeed, and Habits included free of charge.

 

Players of Groove Galaxy take control of a stylized planetoid inhabited by neon-loving aliens who dance and groove every chance they get. Playing a music track and tapping to the beat generates musical notes, which are used to upgrade the planetoid and progress to other planets located throughout the galaxy.

 

A Fun Metronome

Learn rhythm in a novel and fun way! Tapping in sync with the music beat increases your multiplier, which means you earn more notes. This intentionally steers players away from the furious tapping typical of “clicker” games. Instead, Groove Galaxy incentivizes players to learn to recognize rhythm and to improve their ability to accurately keep rhythm.

 

The new rhythm visualizer interface gives players real-time visual feedback on the timing and accuracy of their tapping, fostering an intuitive understanding of music. The new target wheel provides rhythm guidance to novices, encouraging the development of a natural appreciation for beats and meter.

 

Like its predecessor, Groove Galaxy was created to give everyone - regardless of musical ability - a sense of involvement in the music they love. Tapping along  to your favourite music tracks is an entertaining and relaxing pastime. Referring to similar gameplay in Groove Planet, leading iOS game review site TouchArcade explained: “it’s easy to get into a groove and feel almost like you’re dancing. In fact, sometimes I do dance a little while playing” (TouchArcade).

 

Award Winning Technology

Groove Galaxy incorporates award-winning chord analysis/recognition technology by strategic partner Jamn (http://getjamn.com/) in order to display the chords and key of your favourite songs.

 

Multiplayer & Passive Mode

Acting on various players’ feedback, Groove Galaxy includes a real-time tournament system where friends compete for leaderboard placement. Various “Asteroid Events” will test players’ rhythm skills in a multiplayer setting, with various and generous rewards.

 

In addition to its participatory “active” gameplay mode, Groove Galaxy has  a stylish passive “music player” display mode that shows your planet and population responding to the music currently playing.
